The wait is over. Kaden Elliss is ready to make his return the field on Sunday. We’ve heard very little about Elliss since he’s been on the shelf with a calf injury. The New Orleans Saints linebacker just reenergized the fan base with one word, and his timing couldn’t be better, with Jaylen Warren toting the rock.

When asked if he expected to play Sunday, Elliss flat out responded, “yes.” It’s all fans have been waiting to hear. Prior to him taking the trip to Paris and practicing this week, it was radio silent on the linebacker. The ascension to the starting lineup was swift.

The silence was beginning to beg the question of why isn't Elliss on injured reserve. The Saints haven't fared well against the run, so they haven't earned the right to overlook any rushing attack. Getting Elliss back will help this part of the game. The linebacker corps is lacking aggression and speed downhill. Elliss is going to shoot gaps and take away running lanes in a way we haven't seen Danny Stutsman and Pete Werner do enough effectively.

The most impressive part about Warren's season so far is his yards per carry. He's only carried the ball 84 times, but he's in the top 10 because he averages 5.5 yards a pop. Knowing the Saints have struggled to stop the defense, this could be the first game this year that he gets 20 carries.

It should be no surprise if the Steelers lean into the run more this week, and Kaden Elliss will be a big part of
