As the 2025 Draft nears, it remains a mystery what every team, outside of the Tennessee Titans, will do. The Titans are seemingly locked in on quarterback Cam Ward, so the draft will start at two with the Cleveland Browns. Their decision will shape how the rest of the draft unfolds.

Another team that could have an impactful selection is the New Orleans Saints. Picking at No. 9, the Saints have been identified as a team that could stop a possible Shedeur Sanders slide. The quarterback prospect could go as early as No. 2, but it also won’t be all that surprising if he slips into the teens.

New Orleans is definitely an option for Sanders, because the team has been doing work on all of the quarterback prospects. Recently, the Saints held a private workout for Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe. Milroe is expected to be a day-two selection, and that’s why it was surprising when Dane Brugler reported Milroe accepted an invitation to attend the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay.

Typically, only guys who are locks for the first round attend the draft in person, as to avoid awkwardly sitting in the green room all night, and being there when the first round ends. Milroe is far from a lock in the top 32, so his plan to attend was a shock.

However, it has since been reported that the quarterback prospect had impressive workouts with the Saints and the Browns. While the two reports could be unconnected, it’s also possible Milroe feels good about going in the first round, based on how his workouts with those teams went.

Jalen Milroe will reportedly attend the draft after impressive workouts with the Saints and Browns

While Milroe could go earlier than expected, it’s important to note the Browns or Saints are unlikely to select him at No. 2 and No. 9, their current first-round picks. However, if either one of the teams are seriously considering him, they could trade their second-round picks to move into the end of the first round to select him.

Doing that would ensure they land him, instead of gambling on the possibility on day two, and it would also give the team five years of contract control with the fifth-year option. Of course, it remains unclear if the Saints, the Browns, or any team is planning to do that with Milroe, but it is interesting he plans to attend the draft after a couple of impressive private workouts.
