A lot has been said about Kellen Moore becoming the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, but one thing's for sure, he has already won over the locker room. Demario Davis' latest comments serve as proof of that.

Davis went on the Up and Adams show earlier this week and made sure to praise his new head coach, calling himself a fan. Furthermore, Davis says that he (Moore) is very impressive and that the staff he's assembled is incredible. "If I were running the team, I'd run it exactly like him."

Kellen Moore is only 36, and he was just an active NFL quarterback a few years ago. Demario Davis says that he manages to use his young age as a strength. "He's not as removed from the locker room as some other coaches would be, so he just reverse engineers it. 'If I was a player, how would I want it ran?'"

Kellen Moore first offseason with the Saints has been all about overhaul

Kellen Moore started coaching the moment that he retired. Hired as the Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks coach, he quickly became their offensive coordinator and helped the offense in Dallas be among the league's best (they were in the top 10 in each year Moore was OC).

His one-year stop in Los Angeles didn't go as well. Brandon Staley hired Moore as the offensive coordinator, but the offense struggled. Both men were left looking for new jobs that offseason. From being laid off, to being a Super Bowl winning coordinator. It was the 2024 campaign with the Philadelphia Eagles that landed him the lead job with the Saints.

Moore has had a lot on his plate in his first offseason leading the charge. He's overseen a quarterback battle. So far, it looks like Moore is taking the appropriate steps within his evaluation. He's set up a strong rotation and appears meticulous.

Moore's first draft class isn't too shabby either. You see a coach who understood where the team needed talent and added pieces for the upcoming season and the future. Then, he added veterans Justin Reid and Davon Godchaux in the offseason. Both players address major needs.

You can look to positions like wide receiver and tight end, but the Saints had a lot of holes. Moore has addressed most, but it was never going to be a one year process.

Moore brought some old friends with him to spearhead the change

It doesn't stop at the roster. On his way in, Moore completely revamped the staff in New Orleans. He even went so far as to change the defensive scheme by hiring Brandon Staley, who runs a 3-4 defense (where the defensive line consists of three players and four linebackers).

The Saints were one of the most injured teams in the NFL last year (no offense was impacted more), so being healthy is sure to be one of the top things on their to-do list. One of Kellen Moore's new hires was his shot at trying to solve that problem. Ted Rath, most recently the Eagles' Director of Sports Performance, is somebody who has spent the last football season away from coaching.
