Former New Orleans Saints Drew Brees and Reggie Bush had a legendary connection in New Orleans, helping lead the Saints to a Super Bowl 44 victory. Their most notable play together wasn't even a touchdown pass. It was actually on that big leaping rushing touchdown Bush had back in 2009. Brees is able to make a crucial block on Dolphins defensive end Randy Starks.

The duo is interested in taking that connection back to the field in a coaching capacity, and both have already made some first steps in that direction. Brees has been rumored to head into coaching over the past few years.

In 2022, he was an interim assistant coach at Purdue, his alma mater, while they searched for a new head coach. "For me, this is an opportunity to represent my school, my university I love so much, and to help with the transition to Coach Walters, which we're all extremely excited about." Brees said to College GameDay.

Bush, Brees' former running back, fully supports the future Hall of Famer in his coaching endeavors. "I would 100% be in full support, but I would also 100% want to coach with him." Bush said on the Up and Adams show. "If I played with him, why wouldn't I coach with him?"

Reggie Bush's own desire to coach

Bush has expressed his desire to teach as well, telling the Sporting Tribune's Arash Markazi that it's his dream to coach at his alma mater USC someday. And he's already started down that path, interviewing for the head coaching position at Sacramento State back in December.

“I would love to come back and be the head coach of USC at some point and help lead USC to a national championship,” Bush said. “Lately, man, I've just been really having this urge inside of me to get out and coach because it's in me. And it's been something I've been thinking about a lot and actually talking to people about.”

If the two make good on their promise, it's unlikely to be in New Orleans, as the Saints have already made multiple, new, young additions to the staff this past offseason. Kellen Moore, their head coach, is currently the youngest in the league at 36 years young.
