For the first time since being drafted by the New Orleans Saints, cornerback Paulson Adebo will be playing in the Superdome with the visiting team. Rather than wearing black and gold, this time he'll be wearing blue and red.

Adebo signed with the New York Giants a three-year, $54 million contract (with $38.5 million guaranteed) back in March, after he and the Saints failed to reach an agreement. New Orleans didn't really have much of a shot at him, as his price tag was just too high for what their salary cap would allow.

Many in the media have been calling it a revenge game for the young cornerback. It makes sense, as the team chose not to resign him, but at the same time Adebo himself hasn't shown much animosity towards his former team. "I just have appreciation for the first four years of my career and the role that the Saints played in that first chapter, and then trying to continue this new chapter," Adebo said to the media. “The NFL is a business.”

Former Saints CB Paulson Adebo has not had the best start in East Rutherford

For Paulson Adebo, 2025 has been the first season where he's been the clear-cut top cornerback on a roster. Before, in New Orleans, there was always either Marshon Lattimore in front of him or Alontae Taylor right next to him. But now, he's at the top of the hill.

How's he been doing so far this season? Not horrible, but not spectacular either. Currently, Adebo is on his worst start since the 2022 season, with a defensive grade of 56.2 (107th/165 CBs). A quarter of the way through his fifth season in the National Football League, he has been targeted 29 times, allowing 17 receptions for 169 yards and one touchdown.

For the former Saint, this Sunday will also be his first time in the Superdome since he broke his femur, but he says that he's put the injury behind him. "I think I'm past that," Adebo told reporters in the Giants' locker room. "It'll definitely be unique to be out there. I'll have family there too, so that'll be a fun time."
