The New Orleans Saints are heading into day two of the 2026 NFL Draft after drafting Arizona State wide receiver in round one. To help familiarize fans with potential day-two prospects, here’s a mock draft for rounds two and three.
Walking out of the first round, there's a lot of corners who can help the Saints on the board still. There's outside corners and slot corners available, along with safeties who can slide into the STAR role. If that's what the Saints want next, the options should be there for the picking.
This mock is meant to be predictive and showcase what the Saints could do today. Additionally, no trades are included. With that said, it’s time to get into a day-two mock draft for the Saints.
Avieon Terrell is the playmaker the Saints' defense needs
2:42- Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson
Avieon Terrell was a consensus first-round pick but has fallen to day-two. The five-foot-11 cornerback is incredibly versatile and has a knack for making game-changing plays. He would be an impeccable fit on the Saints and would give Brandon Staley a dynamic chess piece to deploy.
Terrell has outside and slot versatility. Additionally, he’s a turnover machine, forcing five fumbles in 2025 and nabbing three career interceptions. Terrell is an outstanding athlete, which makes him smooth in coverage and allows him to fly downhill to defend the run. The Saints shouldn’t think twice about grabbing Terrell at pick 42 if he’s available.
3:73- Cashius Howell, EDGE, Texas A&M
Many fans believe Cashius Howell will be long gone by round three; however, his historic outlier frame could scare teams and cause him to drop this far. If he does, the Saints should sprint to the podium to select him. Howell would give the Saints an explosive presence who can consistently pressure the quarterback.
Howell’s first step and refinement as a pass rusher make him a dangerous force on the edge. He has fantastic bend around the edge and a full repertoire of rush moves. He will be limited as a designated pass rusher, but that’s still a valuable role and something the Saints need. Howell would be a perfect fit in Staley’s defense and help improve their pass rush.
