The New Orleans Saints selected wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with the eighth pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. This was the perfect landing spot for him, as head coach Kellen Moore will maximize his ability. The two will form a dynamic pairing and elevate the Saints’ offense. Yahoo football analyst Matt Harmon shared similar thoughts on his podcast.

“I think this is a great fit for his (Jordyn Tyson’s) game,” Harmon said. “He’s gonna be able to move across the formation. He’s going to get reps from the slot and as a Z receiver. Him and Chris Olave can alternate those two roles”.

We've all heard the praise of Tyson before, but Harmon's previous reservations is what makes this compliment different. He viewed Tyson as a prospect who was "very landing spot sensitive." Landing with the Saints catapulted Tyson from the fourth best receiver in the class, in Harmon's eyes, to threatening Carnell Tate for most receiving yards by a rookie.

Kellen Moore will bring the best out of Jordyn Tyson

Moore and Tyson are perfect partners. The second-year head coach thrives at scheming ways to get his playmakers the ball in space. The rookie will line up in a variety of spots and be implemented in countless ways to maximize his potential. He’s an excellent complement to Chris Olave and will form an explosive receiver room.

This is the ideal opportunity for Tyson to produce early in his career. He joins a young team with a dynamic quarterback, high-upside backfield, and dynamic set of pass catchers. This takes off a majority of the pressure from him, allowing Tyson to be an excellent contributor while not being the defense’s primary focus.

In his podcast, Matt Harmon shared that Tyson will be far more impactful on the Saints, rather than the Tennessee Titans (just the example he used). No disrespect to them, but New Orleans has the established pieces and much bigger opportunity for him.

Overall, Jordyn Tyson to the Saints was the best-case scenario for both him and the organization. Tyson complements Kellen Moore and the Saints offense, while New Orleans gives him the best chance to succeed.
