NFL draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently mocked Jeremiyah Love to the New Orleans Saints. He wouldn't be alone in that prediction, but he followed it up by revealing getting Tyler Shough "a new toy to play with" is a priority for the team.

Jeremiah joined the Rich Eisen Show and explained his thought process. Jeremiah said, "there's a lot of excitement around Tyler Shough. Listening to folks down here as well as talking to guys around that organization, there's an excitement there, and they want to give him some more toys to play with."

For Jeremiah, Love is the top offensive weapon in the draft. Being able to grab that outside of the top five almost feels like steal. Love is a running back, however, so it's not far fetched to think he may still be on the board when the Saints pick.

Daniel Jeremiah revealed which way the Saints are leaning on the offense versus defense debate

It could be Jeremiyah Love, Jordyn Tyson, Carnell Tate or a player in free agency, but the Saints do need to add some firepower this offseason. That's not groundbreaking news nor is it hard to figure out. The offense is littered with question marks at their skill position players.

In Jeremiah's mock draft, the only offensive players drafted before Love were offensive tackles. It's one thing to ask which offensive player do you pick, but Reuben Bain Jr. was the next selection. Caleb Downs crept out of the top 10. Having a high level prospect on both sides of the ball available could create a conundrum in the war room.

It could simply be that Love is just a can't miss prospect. Jeremiah's explanation suggests getting the weapon is important to New Orleans' offseason plans. Important enough to prioritize it in the first round? Possibly. It certainly seemed to be the driving force behind Jeremiah's decision.

This approach doubles down on the belief in Shough. You get playmakers for the team regardless, but the Saints found a quarterback this year. We saw him work with limited resources towards the end of the year and perform well. Getting him more options, so he doesn't have to do more with less would be a smart thing to prioritize. Grabbing Jeremiyah Love would be a great place to start. By the sound of things, he may not be the only offensive player high on the Saints' radar.
