New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave is on track to deliver the most productive season of his career in 2025.  Following a standout week 16 performance against the New York Jets, Olave surpassed the 1,000 yard mark for the third time in his first four seasons, further solidifying his status as one of the league’s premier receivers.

Olave now finds himself in elite Saints company, becoming just the fifth player in franchise history to record 90 receptions in a single season, joining Michael Thomas, Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston, and Joe Horn.  His inclusion on that list further cements his place among the most reliable pass catchers the organization ever had.

As Olave continues to build his resume as a Saints great, he now looks to take that next step into the leagues top tier of wide receivers.  His consistent production and polished route running have made him a focal point of the Saints passing attack.  With his continued role to expand, he is positioned to elevate both his individual standing and the offense as a whole.

Chris Olave is poised for a big payday

Chris Olave has recorded 92 catches for 1,044 yards and 8 touchdowns through 15 games.  After a relatively slow start to the season, averaging under 50 yards per game with just one touchdown over the first five contests, Olave found his rhythm and emerged as a consistent offensive force for New Orleans. Over the next 10 games, he firmly established himself as one of the offense's primary difference makers. Olave averaged nearly 80 receiving yards per contest and scored seven touchdowns.

The wide receiver is in the final year of his contract and after delivering consistent production throughout his rookie deal, he is poised to command a significant payday on his next contract similar to his 2022 draft classmates Garrett Wilson and Jameson Williams.

Given the rising market for elite receivers, Olave's next deal is likely to reflect both his on field impact and longterm value to the offense.  In a league that increasingly values elite wide receiver play, he is positioned to be rewarded accordingly.

Olave’s steady progression and strong finish to the season reflect a player still ascending into his prime.  His ability to make plays in key moments has shown that can be relied on in critical situations.  With his role firmly established and continued chemistry building with quarterback Tyler Shough, he’s is poised to be a cornerstone of the Saints offense for years ahead.
