Chris Olave made a huge statement in the first game of the year with a career high 182 yards, but even more notably, he did it while wearing a Guardian Cap. While we seen him wear it in practice, this was the first time he's worn it in live game action. The New Orleans Saints wide receiver confirmed after the game this would be a permanent move, and he just took that commitment to another level.
Guardian announced Olave as their latest signature athlete. He joins safety Jalen Pitre and wide receiver Romeo Doubs, who also signed in 2026, as one of the brand's signature athletes.
In the announcement, Olave said, “I can't wait to uplift the next generation and put safety at the forefront of the game.” His story of resilience was already inspiring, and now he’s bringing a greater light to it.

It's hard to come up with someone who is better suited to represent the Guardian Cap brand than Olave. It's a perfect combination of story, player and name recognition to bring awareness and represent the brand.
Next to Tua Tagovailoa, Olave may be the next player, by a far margin, most synonymous with concussions because of how frequently it's brought up. He revealed last year that he almost retired due to them. Going from questioning your future to wearing a Guardian Cap is a phenomenal story, even if their was a year in between the two moments.
Another aspect that makes this story sweeter is Olave originally didn't want to wear the Guardian Cap in the game. He had already started wearing a Guardian chinstrap last year, but it's the cap that stands out the most.
The switch represented a change in priority, where safety was the number one thing for the receiver. The story of a player who has frequently dealt with concussions in his career who finally chose to give himself an extra layer of protection is a testimony that writes itself.
It's good to have someone who was proactive about wearing the Guardian Cap, but a player with a history give a different perspective.
On top of why Olave relates to the product, he's a growing star in the league. He's coming off a Second Team All Pro season and is on pace to at least repeat that again. That growing stardom puts him in a position to influence younger players.
Most of his peers are likely set in their ways, but Olave can still have an impact on players in middle school and high school. The Saints wide receiver is a great example that you can be great, prioritize your health with a Guardian Cap and still look good at the same time.
