New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave is putting an exclamation point on his season.   He hauled in 8 receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans, marking his second straight game with over 100 yards.  With one game remaining on the schedule, he has totaled 100 catches for 1,138 yards, and 9 touchdowns, numbers that place him firmly inside the NFL’s top ten in all three categories.

Olave’s impact hasn’t gone unnoticed inside the locker room, where his consistency and playmaking have set the standard week after week.  However, he hasn't quite recieved the same level of recognition around the league. After the game, teammate Chase Young made it clear just how highly the Saints star receiver is regarded in the locker room.

“He’s a dawg, man. There’s certain things you can’t teach. It’s time to put some respect on his name, for real.”  Young’s words reflect the respect that Olave has gained in the locker room and the recognition he deserves around the league.

Chris Olave continues hot streak with another big afternoon

Chris Olave played a pivotal role in their Saints 34-26 victory over Tennessee, consistently helping the offense move the chains with multiple first down receptions.  He continues to deliver in key moments, most notably late in the 4th quarter.  Trailing 26-20 with just under eight minutes remaining, Olave hauled in a crucial 60 yards deep pass down the left sideline, putting the Saints in the redzone.  The drive ended in a touchdown a few plays later, giving New Orleans the lead and swinging momentum of the game.

Since Shough was named the quarterback in week 9, Olave has quickly developed a strong chemistry with the rookie quarterback, averaging six catches for 82.5 yards per game, and scoring six touchdowns over that eight game span.  That connection has been a key factor in the team’s recent success, helping fuel a four game winning streak and five wins in their last eight contests.

Chris Olave is having the most productive season yet, posting career highs in targets, catches, yards, and touchdowns.  His increased volume and production highlight his growth and development into a reliable all around receiving threat.

As defenses are forced to account for Olave on every snap, he has clearly established himself as the centerpiece of the passing attack and one of the league's rising playmakers. Although he wasn't named as a Pro Bowler outright, like he deserved, he will likely be selected as a reserve and replace any players who are unable to attend.
