Cameron Jordan had campaigned for Jameis Winston recently, but don't get that confused with displeasure for the quarterbacks on the roster. Jordan still likes what he sees from the young quarterbacks.

When looking at the quarterbacks on the roster, youth is the defining trait, and "young" was the first word that came out of Jordan's mouth when asked about them. He said it with emphasis.

Youth doesn’t have to be a bad thing

Jordan later doubled down on this fact describing ther room as "nothing but youth." With that youth comes “a lot of potential, lot of hope.” The early takeaways from practices young guys are already flashing potential.

Jordan named the entire quarterback room, which includes Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener and Hunter Dekkers during his appearance on NFL Live. Most of Jordan's attention was appropriately placed on Shough and Rattler. Those two are the top candidates for the starting role in 2025.

Despite the youth and lack of experience, Jordan says the talent as obvious. “Wide eyed kids, but that’s just it. They’re not playing like that,” Jordan said. “We’re only in OTAs but each one of them made some throws that you were like ‘ok. I see some stuff.’”

Jordan understands the true test has yet to come. The Saints haven’t put on pads, but what he’s seen so far has been impressive.

Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler have caught Jordan’s eye

Jordan admits he’s high on him. Rattler was thrusted into a terrible situation, and the results were as expected. Jordan saw a competitiveness he appreciated out of Rattler

Shough’s arm talent has been a standout during the offseason. One of the types of throws Jordan highlighted from Shough were out routes which are throws that can showcase arm strength. The biggest compliment of the rookie was his timing. That’s not something you typically hear complimented this early in Year 1.

Jordan’s praise of both young quarterbacks aligns with what has been reported out of camp. Shough has looked sharp during his first couple of practices. Rattler appears to have taken a step forward. When Jordan says “I don’t think we’re in a bad place in terms of the future of what they can do,” it’s not just lip service.
