Cam Jordan has never been shy about sharing his desire to be a lifelong Saint, but he expressed openness to the idea of a future beyond the New Orleans Saints.

Jordan told media, "in my mind, it's always playing here or retiring." That's not anything out of the norm for Jordan. Then he added "but maybe it's not," and changed the whole sentiment. He made these comments coming off a 2 sack performance versus the Dolphins.

What makes this shift more disappointing is Jordan pointed to the past seasons as the catalyst for this thought. "As you look (back on) the last couple of years, maybe you do have to look around." The Saints haven't moved on from any beloved veterans to bring that comment on, so it sounds like the success of the team has Jordan weighing his options.

Saints fans have been trying to retire Jordan for a few years at this point. You lose track of how many years you heard this may be Jordan's last year. It's understandable why fans feel this way too. Not only is the defensive end past a decade in the league, Jordan hasn't been productive getting to the quarterback in recent years.

That has changed this year. Jordan has already reached 6.5 sacks with five games left. That's more than his last two seasons combined. He's had a sack in each of the last three games, and it's not out of the realm of possibility that he could reach 10 sacks for the first time since 2021.

Pair Jordan's recent comments with his surge in production and you'll see a player who has his mind on 2026 and beyond. With 10 sacks in sight, it would be hard to blame him. The Saints' top pass rushers are supposed to be Chase Young and Carl Granderson. Young hit his stride quickly after returning from injury. Granderson made a lot of noise early in the season. That production, however, has abruptly tapered, and he's been silent for the last two months.

Jordan being one of the top edge rushers on the roster in 2025 wasn't on many fans' bingo card. Most importantly, he's doing it with solid production. Time will only tell if Jordan takes this beyond
