Cam Jordan came back to the New Orleans Saints on a similar deal to the one he was on last year, with a bump in average salary and incentives. That isn't the only change. ESPN's Katherine Terrell also reported Jordan no longer has any incentives related to his playing time.

Every single incentive in Jordan's contract is related to his ability to bring down the quarterback. It's notable that last year he played less of the snaps than typical and still produced at a high clip. There's really no need to factor playing time into the bonuses.

A resurgent Year 15 didn't stop the Saints from adding some safeguards. Jordan will still be under pressure to show he could do it again. Terrell reported Jordan will trigger a $500,000 incentive when he reaches 5 sacks, and every sack after that will add an additional $750,000, with a ceiling of 9 sacks.

Cam Jordan is fully betting on himself

This contract is the epitome of a win-win deal, but it does favor the Saints slightly. Jordan spoke about having to humble himself during the negotiation process in his return press conference.

Humbling doesn’t mean it was a bad deal for Jordan. It just means it isn’t what he thought he’d get. Jordan likely thought the ceiling of $11 million would have been the contract without the incentives.

That's what makes this such a win-win. Jordan still has the ability to reach these figures with the addition of incentives. This is a performance based contract, so if he does reach these standards, it benefits the team on the field and Jordan in his pockets.

The Saints legend is coming off his best season in years. Having to roll right back into prove it mode was clearly humbling. The options just weren't as plentiful at home or elsewhere as he thought.

Jordan has banking on himself. He did it in 2025, and we saw the results. If Jordan closes his career with a repeat performance, he'll have $3.5 million extra in his pocket as well.
