Cam Jordan’s reaction to Sunday’s loss perfectly captures the state of the Saints
It’s bad in New Orleans right now. The Saints just lost their sixth straight game, losing to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, and we’re only eight weeks into the season. While that technically means New Orleans could turn the season around, it also means the team could have many more disheartening games ahead.
Following Sunday’s loss, the Saints’ veterans had a lot of different things to say. However, the reaction from one of the team’s vets perfectly summed up the state of the franchise right now.
Cam Jordan, who comes to social media with a message after every game, delivered his saddest message yet. He simply said that there was nothing to be said, and that New Orleans is in a new territory.
Cam Jordan left speechless after Saints pick up six-straight loss
Cam Jordan not saying much actually says a lot, because he always has something to say, and he’s usually able to give things somewhat of an optimistic or constructive spin.
In week’s past, the veteran defensive end has said things like refocus, break down the film and move on, or find a way to win. While all simple statements, they allude to a sense of hope, or belief that things could get better. Those things seem to be absent in Jordan’s latest post.
If that is the case, who could blame him. The Saints are playing bad football at every level, and it’s a tough product for fans to watch right now. With how New Orleans looked on Sunday, and the five weeks prior, it wouldn’t be surprising if Jordan doesn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel.
The veteran defensive end only played 19 snaps on Sunday, which ties for a season low. He didn’t record any stats in those snaps, and he knows his role will remain limited moving forward. However, his heart is still in it, and his heart is seemingly breaking just like every Saints fan’s heart right now.
