Cam Jordan finally signed a new contract with the New Orleans Saints. For the first time in his 15 year career, Jordan was a free agent. In his first and final free agency period, he definitely had Saints fans waiting. However, he made it clear after signing his deal that he wasn't going anywhere.
Jordan told reporters, "There's no amount of money in the league that could make me say, 'Hey, just turn your back on everything that you've built." Jordan has been with the Saints for 15 years. The NFL is a business, but it's hard to just walk away from that. Sometimes players don't have a choice, but Jordan does.

Cam Jordan basically confirmed it was all Saints all along
The entire time Jordan was a free agent, the belief that the Saints were at the front of the line never wavered. In a way, that's what set him apart from Kamara. Even with all the uncertainty, it still felt like Jordan and the Saints were on the same page. There were questions about how long it was taking, but it was never questioned if both sides wanted a reunion.
Many people asked me if there was another team who could pry the legend away from the Saints. You never say never, but no team ever felt like the frontrunner for his services. The Chiefs were often a common team put in the mix. That was the team I ever even considered as an alternative.
They had a team success component to them. What they never had, however, was the sentimental value that mattered more than anything else. When that conversation arose, my answer was always some variation of "it all depends on what does Jordan value more." That answer was always followed by my belief that Jordan would put emotional side over everything.
Jordan's decision and comments make it abundantly clear that that was the case. With that one line, it's clear the choice of money or legacy was an easy one for Jordan. Now, he still had to be compensated appropriately, but he prioritized his history with the Saints over everything.
Saints fans knew Jordan was a "one logo" player. This deal guarantees that, and his commmts show how important that was for him.
