The New Orleans Saints took down the New York Jets last weekend , and defensively, they led the charge with a season-high 8 sacks. Cam Jordan's back to back sacks led the team and further cemented himself in the NFL record books.

With the two sacks Jordan had on the day, the veteran defensive end officially has his ninth season with at least eight sacks. He joins NFL legends LB Rickey Jackson, DL Leslie O'Neal, DE Jason Taylor, DE Dwight Freeney, OLB Robert Mathis, DE Jared Allen, DE DeMarcus Ware, and DT Aaron Donald are the only other players who have accomplished this feat. Elite company to have, to say the least.

Sunday was also the first time he has ever sacked a New York Jets quarterback in his career, making Brady Cook the 51st different victim of Jordan. "I didn't know I had never sacked the Jets before; guess they haven't been on my list," Jordan said postgame. "But they're in the AFC; I don't really care. There's only one team I hate, and there are two other teams in our division. Other than that, the league is the league."

Cam Jordan's Hall of Fame case just keeps looking better and better

Cam Jordan's two sacks on Sunday were the 129th and 130th of his career, which officially pushed him past NFL and Saints Hall of Fame linebacker Rickey Jackson. Now he has sole possession of the 17th most sacks by one player in NFL history, adding more to his already Hall of Fame-caliber resume.

Those sacks helped Jordan cross the seven and eight sack threshold, triggering incentives in his contract. Each time that he brought Brady Cook to the ground, Jordan earned himself $400,000 of incentives. However, he has never really been the kind of player who chases that part of his contract, saying that he just loves the game of football.

Since being drafted in 2011, Jordan has given his heart and soul to the city of New Orleans. Currently, Jordan does not have a contract with the Saints for the 2026 season, putting his future in doubt. Furthermore, with over 40 people there for him at the dome on Sunday, there's a chance that he might've played his last home game in the city where he started it all.
