Alvin Kamara needs second attempt after poor first pitch at Chicago Cubs game

Kamara likely won't be swapping the football out for a baseball any time soon

Alvin Kamara is a football player and a great one at that. It wasn't until Saturday afternoon that we've seen the New Orleans Saints running back step out of that bubble athletically when he threw the opening pitch at the Chicago Cubs game.

Kamara got two tries at the opening pitch. It's a good thing to because the first attempt left much to be desired. Kamara knew he had a better throw in him and asked for a redo.

The second pitch yielded much better results. The first pitch quickly hit the dirt before making it to home plate. If that was his only attempt, the jokes would have quickly come rolling in. The first pitch is far from easy, and Kamara had a respectable second attempt. He made it to the plate.

Alvin Kamara has one passing attempt in his Saints career

Kamara was almost the emergency quarterback for New Orleans a few years back. The team was down to their last quarterback, and if they had to go any deeper in their rotation, Kamara was the guy. He was excited about the opportunity to "get his Drew Brees on."

There was recently a clip of Joe Burrow throwing a baseball. I think it's safe to say Burrow is a better thrower than Kamara, and even he struggled to throw a baseball with accuracy. Throwing a pitch and throwing a pass are both throws, but they aren't exact parallels.

Kamara has also had more luck throwing the football. He completed his only passing attempt in 2019 on a throw to Josh Hill. Kamara gets extra points for throwing on the run. He didn't set his feet, so it didn't hit Hill right in the chest. However, it was an easy catch for the tight end and resulted in a tight end.

There may still be hope for Kamara throwing the football more in the future. If the running back wants Kellen Moore to pull the running back pass out of the playbook, he needs to hope his coach paid more attention to his one throw in 2019 than his two throws on Saturday.
