New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara doesn’t speak much, but when he does, he doesn’t hold back. The veteran running back always transparently speaks his mind. He recently did that on Tuesday, making it known who he wants the Saints to hire as their next head coach.
Kamara took to social media saying his “vote for head coach rhymes with Fizzi.” Of course, that’s his way of endorsing Darren Rizzi, who served as the team’s interim head coach after Dennis Allen was fired. Prior to that, Rizzi was the special teams coordinator in New Orleans.
Aite my vote for head coach rhyme wit Fizzi…

While fans love Rizzi, not many are calling for him to be the team’s next head coach. With the Saints going 3-5 under Rizzi to end the season, a lot of people are hoping the team goes in a different direction. That sentiment is likely what prompted Kamara’s follow-up tweet, where he called out fans who have been vocal about their choices for head coach.
The veteran running back said it was funny hearing everyone say why a coach should or shouldn’t be hired, despite them not having high-level football experience.
Ion really speak too much football. Especially in the offseason. But it be funny hearing why yall think a coach should get a job or not. But then again.. the last time some yall played organized anything was last night on 2k. Can’t een get ya best friend to pass you the ball at…

Alvin Kamara endorses Darren Rizzi to be Saints head coach
Not many people know the Saints’ situation more intimately than Kamara does, so he’s right to have an opinion, and flex the fact that he’s closer to the situation than anyone. That reality won’t necessarily change fans’ desires or opinions, but it is the truth.
Saints’ veterans have publicly supported Rizzi since he took over as head coach, so Kamara’s endorsement shouldn’t come as a surprise. Throughout the second-half of the season, when Rizzi was the interim head coach, it was very clear that he and Kamara had a close relationship, with a lot of respect for each other.
With the Saints currently interviewing several candidates, including Rizzi, Kamara is doing his part by making it known that’s who he wants to coach him next season. While Kamara is a respected voice in the organization, it’s unclear if the franchise will be taking any players’ thoughts into consideration.
