The Senior Bowl is now over, and the New Orleans Saints have approximately a month before the NFL Combine to evaluate the results and alter their draft board. Most prospects helped themselves in Mobile, AL, and dramatically improved their draft stock; however, the opposite is also true. I’ve highlighted some players who impressed throughout the week, but now it’s time to examine those who disappointed and hurt their stock.

It’s worth noting that these players still have ample opportunities to show NFL teams they can still thrive in the NFL. They still have the NFL Combine, pro days, and top-30 visits to impact their stock.

Saying that, it’s time to get into four prospects who hurt their stock during the Senior Bowl.

Jude Bowry was outclassed by an impressive edge rusher class

Jude Bowry- Offensive Tackle, Boston College

Jude Bowry is arguably the biggest loser from the Senior Bowl. He struggled in the practices, but was exposed during the game. It’s clear that he can’t be left on an island against quicker, more technique driven edge rushers who can win with speed. Bowry will still be drafted, but a transition to guard is now necessary for his success at the next level.

Ja’Kobi Lane- Wide Receiver, USC

Ja’Kobi Lane was widely considered a top-10 receiver in the NFL Draft, although I had him as my WR20. He’s a superb athlete; no one is questioning that. However, concerns about him being unable to separate were confirmed in Mobile. Lane was never mentioned at the Senior Bowl because he didn’t make any plays and was outshone by virtually every receiver there. He could still be an early day three pick because of his potential, but his stock took a drop last week.

Nicholas Singleton- Running Back, Penn State

The Senior Bowl was pivotal for Nicholas Singleton to show scouts he was still an elite prospect despite a rough season at Penn State. Sadly, he suffered a broken foot in Mobile and will be out for the foreseeable future. He didn’t perform badly, but this injury will plummet his draft stock and prevent him from performing at the NFL Combine. He’s still likely to hear his name called in April, but being a late-day three pick is much more probable now.

Diego Pavia- Quarterback, Vanderbilt

Diego Pavia’s main issue at the Senior Bowl happened before practices began. He measured in at 5’9” ⅞, 198 pounds, which is insanely small for a quarterback. He didn’t perform badly in the practices or game, but a future at QB is likely off the table. It may be in his best interest to consider changing positions to a tight end or fullback.
