The New Orleans Saints currently have 11 members in the NFL Hall of Fame, with Drew Brees just being announced on Thursday night. Hopefully, they get number 12 soon with offensive guard Jahri Evans. This is an incredible honor for players and cements themselves in NFL history, but is incredibly challenging to reach.
This brings up an interesting question. Do the Saints have any future Hall of Famers on the roster currently? And for the potential ones, how likely is their case?
In total, three players on the Saints roster can be considered HOF hopefuls. It’s important to note that young players weren't included as it’s too early to make that call. It’s also worth noting that Taysom Hill won’t be eligible for the accolade because he’s never made a Pro Bowl or All-Pro, which is sadly a criteria (and is a shame).
Cam Jordan should undoubtedly be a Hall of Famer
Cam Jordan
Cameron Jordan has an outstanding case to be enshrined in Canton, OH. He is currently 17th in NFL history with 132 career sacks and could potentially reach the top 10 with another season. The 15 year veteran has been the epitome of consistency, only missing two career games. He isn’t the biggest name, but Jordan should be a Hall of Famer.
Demario Davis
Demario Davis is another enticing option for the accolade. He’s played at an elite level for his entire 14 year career, and still counting. Davis is 19th all-time with 951 tackles and is the poster child for efficiency. His case is lessened by only being named to two Pro Bowls and one first team All Pro appearance, but that doesn't mean it’s over. Davis is easily a candidate to make the Hall of Fame after he retires.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara is an option for the Hall of Fame but is a long shot. What hurts his chances is the absence of a 1,000 yard rushing season. He’s had spectacular production as a receiver, frequently going over 1,000 scrimmage yards but never having the rushing production isn’t a great look. Despite this, he still has a chance if the voters recognize the 5x pro bowler and former Offensive Rookie of the Year’s impact to the Saints.
