The New Orleans Saints' offseason is dwindling as the regular season is under two weeks away. Countless players had impressive performances, but who stands out as the MVP? While, stars like Chris Olave, Tyler Shough, and Chase Young come to mind for many fans, they aren't the only contenders.
Even though it's the offseason, players breaking out and dominating are an amazing sign for the Saints. In some instances, it's the difference between making and missing the initial roster. Other times, it's proof of progress in the right direction for the stars of team, and the Saints saw both of these instances.
This was a pivotal offseason for the Saints, seeing that they had elevated expectations and every fan plus some non-Saints fans were looking to see if the team could deliver on those elevated expectation. Chris Olave is already proving himself to be a smart investment
This is the obvious answer, but Chris Olave is my pick. He wreaked havoc this offseason and showcased why he deserved his four-year, $132 million extension. Brandon Staley’s defense had no answers for the veteran and his chemistry with quarterback Tyler Shough was on full display. If this offseason is any indication, then expect fireworks from Olave and the rest of the Saints offense in 2026.~ Drew Collings
Barion Brown catapulted himself up in the Saints receiving corps this offseason
My offseason MVP has to be Barion Brown. A sixth-round pick, it’s just insane to me that he’ll be one of the top receivers heading into week one. But while it is crazy it’s really no surprise to me, because I’ve seen his upward trajectory from organized team activities all the way to the preseason in real time. Not to mention that it’s nice to finally have an LSU guy on the offense.~ Molly Bauer
Tyler Shough steals the show in joint practices
There were some early concerns on how the New Orleans Saints offense was looking early in training camp, but Tyler Shough was a big reason why optimism rose back up. Specifically, Shough took the joint practices as an opportunity to take a step forward. The way he excelled in the red zone against teams other than the Saints may have been the most impactful sight of camp, and it earned him the MVP of the offseason.~ Darrion Gray
