New Orleans Saints should place these 4 players on the trade block
1. Marquez Callaway
The most likely player on the Saints roster to be traded (at least from a noteworthy perspective) is Marquez Callaway.
This time last year, Callaway was penciled in as the WR1 due to Michael Thomas being injured and slated to miss the first half of the season. He got off to a slow start but ended up doing well, totaling 46 catches for 698 yards and six touchdowns.
While Callaway had a lot of unfair expectations on him last year considering he went undrafted one year prior, he came through down the stretch. Now, however, he might not even end up making the team.
As Mike Triplett noted on Twitter, the other backup wide receivers offer something other than catching passes that make them an asset to the team. For example, Deonte Harty is a star in the return game while Tre’Quan Smith is an excellent blocker. Callaway doesn’t have anything like this that makes him a must-keep.
As a result, the former UDFA out of Tennessee could find himself on the trade block. Teams who are short-handed at wide receiver could come calling about Callaway and he’d be a solid WR3 with a team in search of one.
