Saints Training Camp: 5 players who had us talking after Day 9
Day 9 of New Orleans Saints training camp is in the rearview mirror. Which players had the media and the fans talking after the ninth day of practice?
With the New Orleans Saints‘ first preseason game taking place next week, practice is becoming more important, especially for those players on the roster bubble.
While not all five of these players mentioned in this post aren’t on the roster bubble, they certainly had us talking when Day 9 of practice was officially a wrap.
Let’s take a look at the five Saints who had us talking after Friday’s practice.
5. Kirk Merritt
We all know that cornerback Paulson Adebo has been the talk of camp to this point so it was impressive to see roster bubble wide receiver Kirk Merritt hold his own against him. According to Mike Triplett, Merritt wrestled a pass away from Adebo when the two went 1-on-1 and then had a nice gain on a pass in team drills.

Did a great job wrestling a pass away from Paulson Adebo in 1-on-1s, then caught the first pass in team drills for a nice gain.
Merritt spent the past two years with the Dolphins and only had one catch for 13 yards during that time. He joined the Saints this offseason and has a tough task making the roster but the camp he’s putting together should get him closer to making the team.
