Saints’ Takeaway No. 1: Don’t forget about Taysom Hill

Taysom Hill looked like a changed man on Wednesday as he took snaps at tight end, and he could surprisingly turn into one of Winston’s favorite targets by the season’s end.

The jury’s still out on what position best optimizes Hill’s unique skillset, but he seems to be shaping up into a solid pass-catching tight end in 2022. Dennis Allen told reporters that Hill will continue taking occasional snaps at quarterback this season, and the team would also use him as a tight end and a special teams stud.

In the first practice of training camp in 2022, Hill looks ready to start a new chapter of his Saints career.

Sean Payton couldn’t leave the team without giving Hill a hefty contract, so like it or not, the Saints and Hill are married to each other for the next four years.

At least the Hill experiment at quarterback has thankfully ended — we believe we speak for all Saints fans when we say Taysom Hill is not a long-term solution under center.

Hill will now try his hand at tight end sharing snaps with Adam Trautman, and on paper he seems like he could flourish at the position given his blazing speed and ability to hurdle over players.

As the complete saying goes, Hill is a jack of all trades, master of none… but often times better than the master of one.
