The No. 3 tight end job is up for grabs this summer. Which New Orleans Saints tight end will earn the job? Let’s rank the candidates.

Tight end should be a position battle to watch for the New Orleans Saints in training camp and preseason. Adam Trautman is likely going to be the starter but Taysom Hill will have a shot to unseat him for the starting gig.

With those two locks to make the roster and the Saints potentially only carrying one more tight end on the active roster, who makes the cut and who just misses out?

Let’s rank the potential options for the No. 3 tight end job.

5. Brandon Dillon

Marian product Brandon Dillon landed with the Saints earlier this summer and doesn’t have a ton of NFL experience on his resumé. In the three years he spent on the Vikings’ roster, Dillon has managed to haul in just one catch for six yards, which isn’t exactly stellar.

Dillon could be utilized as more of a blocking tight end if he were to make the team but that’s going to be quite the challenge for him. He’s got four other guys ahead of him on the depth chart and his previous experience isn’t exactly a great referral.
