Saints’ Marshon Lattimore, 91 OVR — Flat out disrespectful

Two weeks after being ranked as the league’s second-best cornerback, Marshon Lattimore received a 91 overall rating on Madden 23 and is omitted from the top-5 list.

Los Angeles Rams’ Jalen Ramsey is hailed as the best corner in the game by league insiders and video game developers alike, but why does Lattimore’s Madden 23 rating differ so much from the NFL’s perception?

Lattimore put together one of his best seasons in 2021 with three interceptions, 19 passes defended, and 68 tackles and earned his third consecutive Pro Bowl. He’s worked hard to cement his reputation as an elite lockdown corner, and in my eyes, easily outplays the likes of Darius Slayton and Denzel Ward in recent history.

The interdivision battle between Lattimore and Bucs’ Mike Evans reveals just how good Lattimore is: the Saints corner was usually assigned to cover Evans and held him to just nine catches for 131 in the last six matchups.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say Lattimore should join the 99 club in Madden, but he deserves to get bumped up a few points higher.
