Saints’ Demario Davis, 93 OVR: Damn right.

I’d expect nothing less for the Saints’ fearless leader of the defense. Demario Davis earned a 93 overall Madden 23 rating and ranks as the second-best linebacker in the league behind only Fred Warner.

The fact that Davis doesn’t have a Pro Bowl to his name after a decade in the NFL is ludicrous, and here Davis finally gets his due respect as an irreplaceable member of the Saints’ linebacker corps.

Since joining NOLA in 2018, Davis has put together four incredible seasons with 445 tackles, 42 quarterback hits, and 16 sacks. Somehow, he hasn’t regressed with age and has ended each year with 100-plus tackles for the last five years. Give him a standing ovation.

Warner may stand out as the league’s top overall linebacker, but Davis deserves that second place spot given his elite play and coverage skills for the last several years. The rest of the list looks suspect with Darius Leonard falling all the way to No. 5, but I’d still take Davis over Leonard (and even Warner) any day.

The man embodies grit, toughness, a no-nonsense mentality, and everything you would want in a hard-nosed linebacker and captain, and NOLA simply wouldn’t be the same without him.
