Another disappointing third-round pick is Tre’Quan Smith, who NOLA selected in the 2018 NFL Draft. Smith had a sensational career at Central Florida and fans hoped that he’d carry that momentum over to the pros. Unfortunately, that never happened.

Smith has never totaled more than 450 yards in a single season and his career-high in touchdowns sits at five. This past year he had a career-low three touchdowns and this came in a contract year. When presented with the opportunity to ball out and earn a big contract, Smith fell flat.

The UCF product ended up re-signing with the Saints but it doesn’t mean that he’ll make the roster. The team added Chris Olave and Jarvis Landry to the offense and also has some intriguing UDFAs who could give Smith a run for his money this summer.

According to Spotrac, the Saints can save $1.1 million if they release Smith before the season begins. While that might not seem like a ton of money saved, if NOLA can find someone who will provide more, they might consider cutting him loose.
