4 quarterbacks the New Orleans Saints could boldly acquire in 2023
1. Kyler Murray
The most realistic (but still unlikely) scenario if the Saints want to be bold in finding their next quarterback is to trade for Kyler Murray. The former No. 1 overall pick in 2019 has been visibly frustrated with the Cardinals and that came to light this offseason.
While the Cardinals brass has made it public that they won’t be trading Murray if he’s still causing drama next offseason they might decide it’s best to move on from him and get what they can in return.
Murray would definitely make the Saints a better team and there’s no debating that. He was never supposed to be the first overall pick but after a stellar season at Oklahoma, he chose football over baseball and the rest is history.
With a team like the Saints, Murray could truly shine, as he’d have talent on both the offensive side of the ball and on defense. His ability to make plays with his legs is what could make him a lot of fun to watch in this offense should the team move on from Winston.
It’s doubtful that this happens, as the Cardinals would be silly to move on from Murray but if they were willing to trade him, New Orleans could give up quite a bit to land him. They’d then have their quarterback of the future.
If Jameis Winston doesn’t pan out this season, perhaps the New Orleans Saints can be bold next offseason and land one of these signal-callers.
