The biggest breakout candidate for the New Orleans Saints in 2022 is quarterback Jameis Winston. We all know what could’ve been for the Saints in 2021 if Winston didn’t miss most of the season with a torn ACL, and all it does is make us excited for the upcoming season with Winston back under center.

Winston has seen a bit of a career revamp with New Orleans, and he could easily be in contention for some hardware and league-wide recognition this year. The former No. 1 overall pick will not only bounce back in 2022, but he will put his name in NFL MVP conversations throughout the year as well.

Winston, before his injury last season, was looking incredible under center and was showcasing arm talent the Saints hadn’t seen in a couple of years.

Winston, in seven games last season, completed 59 percent of his passes for 1,170 yards with a touchdown to interception ratio of 14:3. He also helped lead the Saints to a 5-2 win-loss record and was looking sharp in every aspect of the game.

Don’t be shocked if Winston brings home NFL Comeback Player of the Year hardware and then some in 2022.
