Starting RDE: Marcus Davenport

Reserves: Payton Turner, Taco Charlton

Finishing out the defensive line is the right defensive end spot, which is led by former first-round pick, Marcus Davenport. Fans were ready for the Davenport experiment to be over with but the team surprisingly picked up his fifth-year option and it was a good thing they did, as he balled out during the 2021 season, racking up nine sacks through 11 games.

Behind Davenport is Payton Turner, who, oddly enough, was drafted because it didn’t look as though the Davenport project was going to pan out. Turner was a first-round pick in last year’s draft and only appeared in five games as a rookie. Hopefully, we get to see more out of him this year.

Taco Charlton joined the team as a free agent. A former first-round pick, Charlton has spent time with the Cowboys, Dolphins, Chiefs, and Steelers. Now he’s trying to make a statement with the Saints.

When looking at the Saints’ defensive line, there’s a strong reason to believe that it could be one of the best units in the entire league. New Orleans doesn’t just have great starters on the d-line but the depth is pretty well-stocked with talent too.

It should be another fun season watching this defensive line wreak havoc on opposing offenses.
