Starting LDT: David Onyemata

Reserves: Kentavius Street, Albert Huggins, Jaleel Johnson

David Onyemata is entering his seventh season with the Saints after New Orleans spent a fourth-round pick on him in the 2016 NFL Draft. He started out as a depth piece and then became a starter in the 2019 season, which is a role he’s kept ever since.

Onyemata is entering the final year of his deal so he has a major incentive to ball out in the 2022 season. Hopefully the team can find a way to keep him on the roster.

The team added Kentavius Street in free agency and he’s only signed to a one-year deal so he, like Onyemata, has a big incentive to play well during the 2022 season.

Albert Huggins is also going to be a free agent next year. He’s spent time with the Eagles, Lions, and the Saints, joining New Orleans last season and appearing in nine games with 16 tackles during that time.

Lastly, there’s Jaleel Johnson, who played in Minnesota for four years and then played for the Texans last year. He might not end up making the roster but if he does, he’ll add another depth piece to this defensive line.
