Fourth-Stringers: Kirk Merritt, Kawaan Baker, Easop Winston

The final three players listed here are the ones who are going to have to pull out all of the stops to make the team.

Kirk Merritt played his college ball at Arkansas State and then spent the past two years with the Dolphins. He didn’t do much in South Beach, catching just one pass last year for 13 yards.

Kawaan Baker is the only wide receiver that New Orleans drafted last year and it happened in the seventh round, which was a surprise. Fans were hoping they’d address the position sooner. Baker appeared in just two games last year but only appeared on special teams.

Easop Winston is someone who knows what an impressive preseason can do as his performance last year helped earn him a spot on the practice squad. He eventually got a chance to shine on special teams, returning 10 punts for a total of 119 yards.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the third and fourth-stringers on the roster and to see who emerges as a roster candidate and who’s on the outside looking in.
