QB4: Ian Book

While Ian Book could be the QB3 on paper, Taysom Hill seems more likely to take over as the starter should Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton both go down. Book was a fourth-round pick in last year’s draft and dressed for a handful of games, making one start.

His first-ever NFL start did not go well as the Notre Dame product was sacked an astounding eight times while throwing for a measly 135 yards and tossing two interceptions. That game was when New Orleans’ roster was flooded with positive COVID-19 cases that hit the quarterback room especially hard.

Book was thrown to the wolves much too early in his career and he didn’t have enough healthy starters to help him succeed in his first start. It was a rough game for the rookie and he’ll be out to prove himself this offseason.

With Hill technically not being a quarterback anymore, Book’s chances of making the roster increase but that doesn’t mean he’ll see the field much this year, if at all.
