Saints rookie Chris Olave has favorable OROTY odds for 2022
The New Orleans Saints might have given up a lot to take Chris Olave with the 11th overall pick but they did it to help their offense improve. They needed a wide receiver to pair with Michael Thomas and Olave is going to be that guy.
WynnBET has faith that Olave could push to be the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022, giving the Ohio State product +1000 odds to win the award, good for the sixth-best odds.
The players with better odds than Olave are Kenny Pickett (+500), Treylon Burks and Drake London (both with +750), Christian Watson (+800), and Breece Hall (+850). Olave, oddly enough, is tied with his Ohio State teammate Garrett Wilson with +1000 odds.
Saints rookie Chris Olave could push for OROTY in 2022
New Orleans was armed with two first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft and spent the first of the two on Olave. It was a move that shocked no one and even when they moved up to nab the Buckeye wideout, it felt like a smart move considering just how bad the offense was a season ago.
Olave and Thomas now give Jameis Winston a solid 1-2 punch, which is something he didn’t have a season ago. When given the right talent, Winston hasn’t had an issue putting up excellent numbers and that’s what New Orleans is hoping for.
Olave was one of Ohio State’s most elusive wide receivers, tallying 2,702 yards and 35 touchdowns throughout his four years in Columbus and now he’ll get to bring that production to the NFL.
It could be tough for Olave to win the OROTY title over a quarterback but last year showed that it’s possible. Ja’Marr Chase had to put up record numbers to earn the title while the rookie quarterbacks also were mediocre but this is another year where that could happen, as Kenny Pickett was the only quarterback taken in the first two rounds.
