1. Taysom Hill/Adam Trautman (or whoever starts at tight end)

Despite needing help at tight end, the Saints stuck with who they had at the position and that puts Taysom Hill and Adam Trautman in a better position moving forward.

Hill is making the transition to tight end this year and could end up as the TE1 based on what he’s shown in the past with the ball in his hands. Trautman is entering year 3 of his career and so far, he’s been disappointing.

By not selecting a tight end at any point during the draft, New Orleans showed its content with Hill and Trautman being their top two options at the position. They could have added someone like Trey McBride or Isaiah Likely but instead, they decided that they want to roll the dice with what they’ve got.

Trautman still has two years remaining on his contract so this is his chance to show why he deserved to be a third-round pick two years ago.

As for Hill, he’s sliding into a new role and if he plays well at his new position, it could do wonders for him to remain in the league once the Saints decide they’re finished with him.
