3. NOLA Saints have the cap space

The most important reason, arguably, is that the Saints can afford Landry.

The former Browns wideout’s estimated market value is a $12 million dollar annual salary, and after NOLA cleared oodles of cap space to potentially trade for Deshaun Watson, the Saints can sign at least one high-profile player before the start of the 2022 season.

Why can’t that player be Jarvis Landry?

Few big name free agents remain, and other than Julio Jones, Jarvis Landry represents one of the most elite offensive weapons money can buy.

After seismic deals reset the wide receiver market in 2022, the Saints have the perfect opportunity to poach Landry now, in the calm after the storm. We can’t think of another available free agent worth the money — all factors considered, a multi-year deal with Landry seems like the best value for the Saints especially given the team’s needs.
