The New Orleans Saints’ 2022 NFL Draft wrapped up this weekend and these three players should be worried about getting demoted from their current position.

The NFL Draft brings fresh-faced rookies to the New Orleans Saints to give them extra talent each year. While it’s exciting to add new players, for some veterans, it’s not a fun event because their starting jobs and even roster spots could be up for grabs with these additions.

Let’s take a look at three members of the Saints who could be in danger of losing their current jobs and getting demoted on the depth chart.

3. Zack Baun

It was only two years ago that it felt like the Saints landing Zack Baun in the third round was a steal. Fast forward to the present day and Baun has not played like a Day 2 selection.

Part of this is on the Saints, as they haven’t used him in the way he’s built for, which is getting after the quarterback. After all, Baun had 12.5 sacks during his final season at Wisconsin in 2019 but he’s yet to record a single sack during his two years with New Orleans.

With the addition of D’Marco Jackson in the fifth round, Baun’s second-string linebacker position could be in jeopardy. Jackson had six sacks last year at Appalachian State and could very well give Baun a run for his money.

If the Saints give Baun a chance to shine as a pass rusher, maybe Jackson doesn’t jump him on the depth chart but at this point, it feels as though this could end up happening.
