Saints Draft: 3 prospects who would be great value picks on Day 3
The New Orleans Saints have made three picks so far in the 2022 NFL Draft and have two remaining. They have a fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick for the third and final day of the draft.
While it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Mickey Loomis to swing some of his draft trade magic and get back into the fourth round, New Orleans, as of now, won’t pick again until the fifth round.
Whether they stand pat and don’t move up or elect to be aggressive again and move into the fourth round, here are three prospects who would be excellent value picks for the black and gold.
3. Zach Tom, OG (Wake Forest)
While the Saints have their two starting guards for the 2022 season, they’ve never been a team to shy away from adding offensive line depth. Zach Tom could give them a nasty addition to their o-line and maybe he’d be able to light a fire under both Andrus Peat and Cesar Ruiz.
Another reason why Tom could be an intriguing addition to New Orleans’ o-line is that he has experience at center. With Erik McCoy set to hit free agency next year, having someone who has played center before on the roster could be a nice asset.
I’d be shocked if Zach Tom fell to the fifth round but it felt like he was on the rise and yet here is, still on the board entering Day 3 of the draft. If he slides to the fifth round, the Saints need to bring him in.
