The New Orleans Saints were not looking to play games in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and proved that by trading five spots to pick 11th to select Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave with their first pick.

Olave is one of the most gifted wide receivers in this year’s draft class, and he seems to be a perfect fit for New Orleans.

Olave has been linked to the black and gold since the offseason began, and it’s a relief to have added a receiver as talented as him to the roster. Moving up to secure Olave raised speculation that the pick may go elsewhere like safety or quarterback, but it was simply the Saints being sure that they could go get their guy.
