There were certainly a fair number of surprises regarding the New Orleans Saints in 2021 and as we enter the new season, there is sure to be more where that came from.

The New Orleans Saints had their fair share of breakout stars last season in linebacker Pete Werner, cornerback Paulson Adebo, and tight end Juwan Johnson and the 2022 season will likely fare no different.

The Saints are entering a transitional period in the history of their franchise, now that their future Hall of Fame signal-caller has hung up the cleats and their legendary head coach has done the same.

The black and gold will look different, feel different, and will almost certainly play differently. Dennis Allen is the team’s new head coach, and he will be responsible for finding the team’s newest diamonds in the rough.

New Orleans already has some players on the roster right now who could see an increased role or who have seemingly stepped up their training a notch this offseason, which made narrowing our list down to three a rather daunting task.

There’s a lot to look forward to in New Orleans this season, so let’s take a look at three players who could shock the Who Dat Nation (in a good way) in 2022.
