1. Jameis Winston

The Saints player with the most to lose in the draft is Jameis Winston. While the organization re-signed him to a two-year deal, that doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to be the starting quarterback for both of those years.

When the Saints traded for an additional first-round pick, most people jumped to the conclusion that the team was planning on packaging those picks to move up and nab a quarterback. They honestly might not have to do that, as one of the top two quarterbacks could end up falling to them at No. 16.

If New Orleans does add a quarterback, they’re indicating that they don’t see Winston as their future. They already indicated as much when they went all-in for Deshaun Watson and only re-signed Winston when Watson decided he wanted to play for Cleveland.

If the Saints draft Kenny Pickett, Matt Corral, Desmond Ridder, or whoever it might be, Jameis Winston is probably the starter for most of 2021 but the moment he slips up, his starting job is on the line.
