The New Orleans Saints could go in a variety of ways with their first few picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. They added another first-round selection and that could lead them to add a quarterback if the opportunity presents itself.

With the Saints’ draft potentially going in a few different ways, let’s take a look at four different players who have the most to lose with the way this draft could play out.

4. Cesar Ruiz

While he still has two years remaining on his rookie contract, Cesar Ruiz doesn’t have much time left to prove that he’s a viable starter at right guard.

New Orleans spent their 2020 first-round pick on Ruiz and it hasn’t gone according to plan. He played center at Michigan and that was the initial plan for him but this past year, he spent time at right guard. He did fill in at center when Erik McCoy missed some time and neither position went well for Ruiz as a starter.

If the Saints draft an interior offensive lineman on the first two days of the draft, Ruiz’s starting role is most certainly in jeopardy.
