Taysom Hill
I thought about not even trying to scamper anywhere near this rabbit hole, but here we are. When I think of players who are currently playing for the New Orleans Saints, but probably shouldn’t be, one of the first players that come to mind is Taysom Hill.
Taysom Hill, a 31-year-old converted quarterback, has been one of the most intriguing players on the Saints over the past few years.
Hill is without a doubt a fan favorite in New Orleans due to his sudden burst into superstardom, but that awe quickly began to fade away when the Saints slapped him with a two-year, 21-million-dollar contract in 2020.
Hill was in competition for the Saints’ starting quarterback job last offseason- but seeing how he lost out on the battle, paying a backup quarterback that kind of money began to rub Saints fans the wrong way.
Hill, however, is now transitioning to a full-time tight end in hopes of maintaining a spot on the Saints beyond 2022. Hill has had success in his career receiving the ball, as he’s accumulated 34 receptions for 388 yards: scoring seven times.
Taysom Hill is going to need to showcase his ability to take the reigns as a full-time tight end if he hopes to be on the Saints’ roster beyond next season- especially since he’s getting the money the Saints refused to pay Jimmy Graham back in the day.
