New Orleans Saints not listed on Deebo Samuel trade odds
The New Orleans Saints make a lot of sense as a landing spot for Deebo Samuel, who wants out of San Francisco. The former second-round pick had over 1,000 yards receiving and six touchdowns in year three with the 49ers and now, he wants out of the organization that drafted him.
While the Saints are a team that should be in the running for Samuel’s services, Ben Heisler of BetSided did not list them as a favorite to land the 49ers receiver. The best non-Niner odds are given to the Jets with +200 (which is the same odds given to “the field”) and the Chiefs are right behind with +300 odds. After that, it’s the Eagles with +450 and the Packers with +550.
The 49ers were given +110 odds, as Heisler mentioned that he thinks there’s plenty of time for things to get resolved between the two. This could end up being something that gets figured out between now and the start of the season, but as we’ve seen this offseason, teams aren’t giving their wide receivers everything under the sun.
New Orleans Saints not a betting favorite for Deebo Samuel
The Saints could certainly use Samuel, as their wide receiver position has been struggling for quite some time. Michael Thomas hasn’t been the guy we once knew and loved since 2019 and he missed the entirety of the 2021 season. Will he even be the same player we once had the pleasure of watching?
New Orleans could spend a first-round pick on a receiver but they could also part with one of those picks and land Samuel. Yes, they’d have to pay him big bucks, but it’d get a position of weakness figured out for years to come.
I’m not surprised to see the Saints not listed as a contender simply because the 49ers might not want to trade him within the conference. The Eagles and Packers are in the NFC but they have the worst odds out of the listed teams.

Perhaps it’s not looking good for the Saints to trade for Deebo Samuel.
