Saints Mock Draft: NOLA makes a blockbuster trade to grab franchise QB
Round 1: Pick 10 – Kenny Pickett, QB (Pittsburgh)
It cost a pretty penny but the Saints got their guy.
WynnBET has been sticking to the idea that the Saints are a favorite to land Kenny Pickett, giving them +300 odds to draft the Pittsburgh product, tying them with the Steelers. Carolina is the only team with higher odds, with +250 odds to take Pickett.
Fans might not love this move but at this point, would anyone be surprised to see the team go in this direction? I sure wouldn’t.
Pickett wouldn’t be an awful selection and he showed that he can flat-out sling the pigskin during his fifth and final year at Pittsburgh. He exploded onto the scene in year 5 and considering he wouldn’t be thrust into action right away in New Orleans, this could end up being a smart move by the Saints.
Now, yes, NOLA had to give up both of their first-round selections to make this happen but as we all know, it’s a quarterback-driven league so hopefully the gamble would pay off for them.
This is a risky move but if Pickett ends up being the guy, parting with two first-round picks might end up going down as a steal for the black and gold.
