DT Neil Farrell

Unlike the offensive line, LSU has been very successful in recruiting and developing defensive linemen to Baton Rouge. One such example is Neil Farrell, who Tiger fans know well, as he has spent the last five seasons playing in Tiger Stadium.

Farrell displays superior strength at the point of attack and is an outstanding run defender. He displays positional versatility as he can line up as a true nose guard in a 3-4 scheme or a traditional DT in a 4-3.

Led by star linebacker Demario Davis, the Saints have finished in the top 5 in run defense in the NFL in the last four seasons. Outside of David Onyemata, who is in the last year of his contract, the Saints have a rotation of undrafted free agent defensive tackles in Shy Tuttle, Malcolm Roach, and  Albert Huggins.

Given his skill set, Farrell would immediately plug into the DT rotation along with recent free-agent acquisition of Kentavious Street.
