WR Third-Stringers: Kawaan Baker, Kirk Merritt, Easop Winston, Jalen McCleskey

Any of these guys could be released depending on what happens this offseason. There’s also a chance that any of these guys could rise up and find themselves in a bigger role moving forward.

Kawaan Baker was the only wide receiver the Saints spent a draft pick on last year and he barely saw the field. He appeared in two games but only saw time on special teams.

Kirk Merritt spent the past two seasons with the Dolphins but only appeared in three games during that time. He caught one pass last year for 13 yards and played in just 8% of the offensive snaps in that game. He was mostly a special teamer.

Easop Winston was someone that fans were pulling for in preseason last year and he did eventually find his way onto the roster. The former Washington State product appeared in three games and made one start during the 2021 season. He returned 10 kicks and caught just one pass for five yards.

Jalen McCleskey played college ball at Tulane so New Orleans natives know the guy pretty well. He spent the 2020 offseason with the Falcons but joined the Saints last summer. We haven’t seen him in an NFL game yet.

None of these guys’ jobs are safe but on the flip side, they could also rise up the depth chart with an impressive summer.
