WR Backups: Kevin White, Deonte Harty, Lil’Jordan Humphrey

We saw a decent dose of all three of these guys during the 2021 season and hopefully, someone like Smith or Callaway (or maybe even both) will slide into the backup roles and one or two of these guys will serve as third-stringers in 2022.

White is a former first-round pick who just could not stay healthy during his time in Chicago. He signed with the Saints last summer in what felt like a last-ditch effort to prove that he still has what it takes to be an NFL wide receiver. He had just one catch for 38 yards last year for the black and gold and has yet to score a touchdown during his pro career.

Harty (previously known as Deonte Harris) rose to the occasion last year, totaling 570 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns during the 2021 season. Harty has mostly been known as a return specialist during his time in the league but he proved that he can be a pass-catcher if the team needs him to do that.

Humphrey is someone I’ve been a big fan of dating back to his days at Texas. He got to show more of what he could provide last year, finishing the season with 249 yards and two touchdowns.

If any of these guys aren’t going to stick as a backup, my guess is that White would be the one to be demoted.
